The Nether

This threatening place is full of zombie pigmen and the eerie cries of the ghast. Not to mention a considerable amount of lava.

While the overworld music seems to go against the sinister atmosphere of The Nether, unique music for this dimension wasn’t added until Title Update 9.

In the Console Editions of Minecraft, The Nether is contained to a size of 288 x 288 blocks wide. A massive bedrock wall marks the border, prohibiting the player from travelling beyond. The original Nether was converted alongside the tutorial world, so you can still enjoy the nostalgia outside of the overworld.
